I went home today for some face to face research on our collaborative Appalachia project. My dad makes mandolins by hand. Talking with him about the craftsmanship involved in creating stringed instruments was pretty cool. I took some pictures in his work area while I was learning how to carve wood. Yes. I carved a tuning peg out of wood today. Good times. My dad is cool.
