Found out about this through the listserv, so I'm sure most of you have already seen this, but I liked it. Carbon fibre seems like an awesome material. I googled it and it seems to be the "wonder fiber" that is stronger than steel but much lighter. Mathias Bengtsson used it to create some pretty cool woven structures that appear to be extremely strong and heavy, but since they are made of carbon fiber, are surprisingly light in weight. His website is fun to look around as well.
